Espaço Ser – Casa Matheus Campos is an NGO created to offer young people treatment for depression, other than psychiatric and therapeutic care. They fight to have depression treated 365 days a year.

They are an ecumenical NGO, 100% composed of VOLUNTEERS, which is run only on donations. It was founded in 2018 by the couple Tania and Fernando Campos, after the death of their son in 2017, at the age of 14, a victim of suicide.

Espaço SER offers these PICs in their Protocol Therapeutic Treatment.

The main PICs offered are: Tai Chi, Music Therapy, Yoga, Origami, Acupuncture, Art Therapy, etc.

Our goals are:

– Real cure for Self-destructive Symptoms;

– Emotional stabilization of young people and their families;

– Improvement of the quality of life;

– Promotion of health and well-being

Help for Life Project 2025

The Help for Life Project continues its legacy of fostering mental health awareness and integrative practices in schools, building upon the achievements of its previous four seasons. With each iteration, the project has expanded its reach, fine-tuned its methodologies, and introduced innovative solutions to address mental health challenges in children and teenagers.

In this fifth season, the project aims to impact 1,950 students aged 7 to 17 years across various schools through integrative actions, psychologist consultations, and mindfulness practices. This year’s efforts include new methodologies such as the introduction of a “kit maker” to link physical and mental health, facilitation training for teachers, and integrating Reiki alongside yoga for younger students.

Objectives

  • Raise Mental Health Awareness: Equip students, teachers, and parents with tools and knowledge to address mental health challenges effectively.
  • Integrative Practices for Well-Being: Promote activities like yoga, tai chi chuan, and kung fu to improve mental and physical resilience.
  • Strengthen School Support Systems: Collaborate with school staff to implement sustainable methodologies and practices.
  • Innovate Learning Approaches: Incorporate the “kit maker” to blend physics and mental health awareness into engaging, practical experiences.

The program will run from February 2025 to November 2025 (10 months).

Kung Fu Session at ETEC Maria Saraiva

On March 7 at ETEC Dra. Maria Augusta Saraiva in São Paulo. The day opened with an energizing Kung Fu practice, bringing students together through movement, discipline, and mindfulness. Later, 170 students gathered to hear psychoanalyst Érico Mabellini, who spoke about the mission of Espaço SER, the partnership with Help for Hope, and the importance of emotional well-being, seeking help, and building strong support networks. The session became especially meaningful when two students bravely shared their personal experiences with anxiety and depression. Their openness reminded everyone present that mental health challenges are real—and that speaking up and supporting one another is a powerful step toward healing.

Tai Chi Activity at EE Dr. Otávio Mendes in São Paulo

The Help for Life 2025 Project continued its momentum with a second impactful school visit at EE Dr. Otávio Mendes in São Paulo, where 170 students participated in a powerful session focused on mental and emotional well-being. The activity began with a simple breathing exercise to help students quiet their minds and center themselves. This was followed by a Tai Chi practice led by Rafael, guiding students through stretching, grounding, and movements designed to build balance, focus, and inner calm. Student feedback confirmed the strong impact of the program. With 119 responses collected, many students shared how meaningful and beneficial practices like Tai Chi and Kung Fu are for young people. Their voices reinforced an important message: mental and emotional health deserve space in every classroom.

Conscious and Integrative Education Program at Colégio SENAI in São Paulo

On June 25, 2025, Espaço SER – Casa Matheus Campos, together with the Help for Life 2025 Project, held its fifth school activity at Colégio SENAI in São Paulo. This phase of the Conscious and Integrative Education Program engaged 21 teachers and school staff, including instructors, librarians, practice advisors, and coordinators. Through their participation, the initiative is expected to positively impact more than 600 students across different age groups and educational programs. Each session represents another meaningful step toward fostering a more conscious, holistic, and supportive educational environment—one where emotional well-being and personal growth are valued alongside academic learning. We are deeply grateful for the partnership and trust that allow this program to reach so many educators and young people, helping inspire lasting and positive change.

Reiki at EMEF Senador Milton Campos

On June 26, 2025, Espaço SER – Casa Matheus Campos, through the Help for Life 2025 Project, held its sixth school activity at EMEF Senador Milton Campos in São Paulo. During this special session, 52 students aged 9 to 10 were introduced to Reiki, a gentle practice focused on balancing energy and supporting emotional well-being. The activity was led by volunteer Janaína B’rañdi, a Reiki Master and author of Reiki for Children. The morning included storytelling, Gassho meditation, and the joyful singing of the Reiki principles song, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere for the children. More than a school activity, the experience offered a moment of curiosity, connection, and calm for students in one of São Paulo’s vulnerable communities. Through initiatives like this, the Help for Life program continues to empower young minds with tools that nurture resilience, emotional awareness, and hope—reinforcing that emotional education is an essential part of a child’s development.

Tai Chi Chuan Practice at Colégio Van Gogh

On September 4, the Help for Life Program, supported by Help for Hope, brought a transformative experience to Colégio Van Gogh in northern São Paulo. During the session, 128 students aged 14 to 17 participated in a Tai Chi Chuan practice led by Master Loic Campos, with support from Professor João Paulo. The activity began with an opening talk by Fernando Campos, encouraging students to embrace life’s flow with greater lightness and awareness, and highlighting how practices like Tai Chi can help bring balance to the body, mind, and energy—especially during challenging moments. Through partnerships with Espaço SER – Casa Matheus Campos, the Help for Life Project continues to bring mindfulness, movement, and mental health awareness into schools, helping young people develop tools for greater balance, resilience, and well-being.

Conscious and Integrative Education Program at ETEC Raposo Tavares, Escola Raul Cortez, and Espaço Cultural São José

The Conscious and Integrative Education Program by Espaço SER has been bringing meaningful actions to schools across São Paulo, reinforcing the idea that emotional health is just as important as academic success. Through workshops and experiential activities, the program has worked closely with teachers and school coordinators, empowering them to become agents of transformation within their school communities. These initiatives aim to raise awareness about emotional well-being while helping educators create more supportive and balanced learning environments. After the vacation break, the Help for Life Program resumed its activities with an inspiring session at Colégio Brasília, where 128 students participated in an empowering Tai Chi Chuan practice. The activity was made even more meaningful as the school principal joined the students, reinforcing that caring for mental health is a shared commitment across the entire school community. While some students were initially hesitant, their curiosity quickly grew as the session unfolded. Through movement and mindful practice, they discovered not only the benefits of Tai Chi, but also the deeper connection between school, well-being, and emotional balance. This initiative reflects the strong partnership between Espaço SER and Help for Hope, working together to raise awareness and provide young people with tools that support both mental and physical health. Each activity plants seeds of resilience—helping the next generation build balance, confidence, and well-being that can last a lifetime.

Yoga at Colégio Maria Imaculada

On the morning of October 31, Espaço SER – Casa Matheus Campos, through the Help for Life 2025 Project, held another meaningful school activity at Colégio Maria Imaculada in São Paulo. A total of 153 students, aged 11 to 17, along with 7 teachers, participated in the session. Divided into three groups, they experienced a grounding Yoga practice guided by instructors Rita Camargo and Cris Martello, focusing on mindful movement, breathing, and relaxation. The students’ feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many sharing how calming and meaningful the experience was. Several expressed a desire to continue practicing Yoga, highlighting the lasting impact these moments of connection, movement, and self-awareness can have on young people. Through initiatives like this, Help for Hope, together with Espaço SER, continues to support youth mental well-being, nurture resilience, and empower students with practices that encourage balance, awareness, and hope.

Yoga at EMEF Monteiro Lobato

At EMEF Monteiro Lobato in São Paulo, 79 children experienced the calming power of yoga through a special session led by teacher Nathalie Sigaki, with support from the Help for Life Program and Help for Hope NGO. Through conscious breathing, gentle movement, and focused attention, students were introduced to simple practices that help cultivate inner calm and awareness—valuable skills for navigating the challenges of everyday life. Research shows that mindfulness and yoga can significantly reduce stress and improve emotional regulation in children, supporting both their academic and social development. Initiatives like this reflect the shared mission of Espaço SER – Casa Matheus Campos and Help for Hope: empowering young people with tools that nurture emotional balance, resilience, and well-being from an early age.

Help for Life 2025 Achievements

2025 was a year of dedication, growth, and meaningful impact for the Help for Life Project. Thanks to the partnership between Help for Hope and Espaço SER – Casa Matheus Campos, the program reached over 3,000 students and 80 teachers throughout the year. In total, 877 students and 201 children participated directly in the activities, while 2,034 additional students were reached through indirect impact across the participating schools. These achievements reflect the commitment of educators, volunteers, and partners who believe in the importance of emotional well-being in education. We are deeply grateful for the trust and support that made this work possible—and especially thankful to the Espaço SER team, whose perseverance and passion continue to bring these goals to life.
